Q: What is hypnotherapy and how does it work?

A:Well, you see, a portion of your subconscious mind is always attempting to prevent you from changing.  Because, let’s face it, change can be scary.  What we are used to, and what we are familiar with,  is comfortable while what is new and unfamiliar can make your subconscious mind nervous.  In simplest terms, hypnotherapy is a conversation with your subconscious mind.  This conversation puts your subconscious mind at ease, to allow you to be more receptive to the suggestions and the positive, powerful changes that you really want.

Q: Is hypnotherapy scientifically proven to be effective?

A:Yes! Numerous peer-reviewed studies have been conducted.  Hypnotherapy has been recognized in both the scientific and medical communities as an effective treatment for various conditions.

An article titled “Hypnosis In Medicine” by Dr. James H. Stewart provides an excellent overview of how hypnotherapy can assist with pain management, anxiety reduction and a range of other conditions.

Q: What can hypnotherapy be used for?

A:Hypnotherapy can be a game changer when it comes to working on deep-rooted beliefs that may be holding you back from the success you deserve.  This all happens because hypnosis uses the power of suggestion to help you evaluate negative beliefs you had about yourself and replace them with more positive, empowering ones.  Hypnosis is a very flexible tool that can be used to manage endless issues.  Dealing with anxiety, resolving fears and phobias, replacing unwanted behaviors and bad habits, improving your sleep, boosting your self-confidence, solidifying your determination, developing a mindset that encourages success and becoming more at ease in social situations.

Hypnosis can help.

Q: How long does it take to see results from hypnotherapy?

A:The time frame for results can vary widely from person to person.  Some people may see improvement after just a single session, while others may require multiple sessions.  It’s a personalized journey, for each individual’s unique needs and circumstances.

Q: Will hypnosis make me tell you all of my secrets?

A:No.  The client remains in control and is very capable of avoiding questions and even lying, while in trance.  If they choose to.

Q: Are there any risks or side effects associated with hypnotherapy?

A:The short answer… No.  Hypnosis is very safe, especially when performed by a trained hypnotherapist.  However, if you have a medical condition, please consult your doctor first.

Q: How does hypnotherapy compare to other forms of therapy?

A:Hypnotherapy is unique in its approach for harnessing the power of the mind by achieving a heightened state of narrow focus and suggestibility.  This can be particularly useful for addressing stress-related conditions and behaviors with a subconscious component, like smoking or overeating.  There are many different styles, approaches and techniques, each of which has its strengths.

Q: Can anyone be hypnotized?  Aare some people more suggestible than others?

A:Almost anyone can be hypnotized, although some people are more immediately receptive to hypnosis than others.

It depends on several factors, such as a person’s willingness and openness to being hypnotized, their ability to focus their attention and their ability to follow simple directions.

Q: Can hypnosis make me into a zombie?

A:No! Hypnosis is a natural state for human beings.  Hypnosis is NOT voodoo. It’s not magic.

Q: Can hypnotherapy help with weight loss, quitting smoking, or other lifestyle changes?

A: Absolutely! Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool for facilitating lifestyle changes like weight loss or quitting smoking.  Addressing subconscious beliefs and habits can help reinforce positive behaviors and create healthier mindsets.

Q: How do hypnotherapists ensure the safety and comfort of their clients during sessions?

A: Professional hypnotherapists are committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment for their clients.  They explain the process thoroughly, answer any questions their client may have and reinforce that the client is in control during the session. The hypnotherapist’s role is to guide and facilitate, not to control or coerce.

Q: How is a hypnotherapy session conducted and what should a client expect during it?

A: Typically, a session begins with a conversation about the person’s goals and an explanation of how hypnosis works.  Then, the client is guided into a relaxed, focused state.

Various techniques, such as countdowns and guided imagery, will be a part of the process. The person becomes more open to accepting suggestions, and the hypnotherapist will use this time to give suggestions that align with the client’s goals.  Then they are gently guided back to their normal state of awareness. Throughout the process, the client is in control and can come out of the hypnotic state whenever they wish. After a session, many people report feeling incredibly relaxed, refreshed and positive as if they just woke up from a pleasant nap.

Hypnotherapy allows for positive, powerful, permanent change as a way to resolve many emotional issues.

Q: How many hypnotists does it take to screw in a light bulb?

A: One, but the light bulb needs to be ready for change.
